The Stihl MSA 300 cordless chainsaw is STIHL’s most powerful battery-powered saw, built for professional arborists and forestry workers who need serious performance without petrol noise or emissions. With a choice of bar lengths — 35 cm (14″), 40 cm (16″), or 45 cm (18″) — it offers flexibility to match the job, whether you’re felling small to medium trees, delimbing, or cutting to length.
STIHL MSA 300 AP Battery Run Time
| Battery | AP 500 S |
|---|---|
| Run time | 20–44 mins |
The MSA 300 is designed specifically for use with the AP 500 S battery, offering a run time of up to 44 minutes depending on operating conditions. No data is provided for other AP or AR batteries, and they are not recommended for this model.
Why choose the MSA300 cordless chainsaw?
Maximum cutting performance with flexible bar lengths
The MSA300 delivers 2.5 kW of power and is fitted with a .325″ RS Pro saw chain for fast, smooth cutting. Available in 35 cm (14″), 40 cm (16″), and 45 cm (18″) bar lengths, it adapts easily to different tasks and tree sizes. Its compact, well-balanced design improves control and reduces fatigue, even on demanding jobs.
Three operating modes for precise control
Choose from Eco mode for extended battery life, Felling mode for strong torque and smoother cuts, and Delimbing mode for high chain speed and clean branch work. The bright LED cockpit clearly displays your chosen mode, chain brake status, and temperature warnings — so you’re always in control.
Comfort and safety for professional use
The msa300 is equipped with STIHL’s anti-vibration system and a soft-grip handle for secure, comfortable operation in all weather. The two-handed ergonomic design allows for safe handling in any position, while the captive nut on the sprocket cover means no lost parts during maintenance.
Smart monitoring and advanced electronics
Advanced electronics protect the saw from overheating and notify you when battery power is low, allowing you to finish your cut before shutting down. The fleece air filter is easy to clean and keeps the motor running smoothly. Compatible with the STIHL Smart Connector 2 A, the MSA300 allows you to track tool usage and maintenance needs via the STIHL connected app and portal.
Strong, reliable battery power
The MSA 300 is designed exclusively for use with the AP 500 S battery, delivering up to 20–44 minutes of cutting time depending on your chosen power mode. The AP 500 S features power laminate technology for double the charging cycles of standard AP batteries, plus integrated Bluetooth connectivity for tracking battery health and runtime data.
