Built for Demanding Forestry Work
The Stihl MS 400.1 petrol chainsaw is a lightweight, high-output saw made for serious forestry professionals. Its 62.6cc 2-Mix engine delivers 3.9 kW, offering outstanding torque for heavy timber without adding unnecessary weight. The compact body design makes manoeuvring between cuts straightforward, even in dense stands.
Designed for Professionals
- Optimised for felling, snedding, and cross-cutting in large timber
- Low-fatigue handling thanks to an advanced anti-vibration system
- Improved rear-handle geometry for secure leg placement during plunge cuts
- Ribbed underside helps glide along trunks without snagging
Performance and Reliability
STIHL M-Tronic engine management ensures consistent output regardless of temperature or fuel quality, while the magnesium flywheel and improved muffler keep the saw cool under sustained loads. The HD2 air filter resists dust, water, and oil, extending service intervals in harsh environments.
