The STIHL KMA 120 R is a professional cordless KombiMotor designed for landscapers, gardeners, and contractors who need flexibility and power throughout the day. Powered by a 36 V lithium-ion battery, the KMA120R delivers strong performance with low noise, making it ideal for work near schools, hospitals, or residential areas.

Compatible with all STIHL KombiTools (except the FSB-KM), the KMA-120R handles trimming, pruning, clearing, mowing, and more. Attaching tools is quick and secure: insert the KombiTool into the shaft and tighten — no extra tools needed.

Comfortable Loop Handle for Better Control

The STIHL KMA120R features an adjustable loop handle with quick-mounting. You can set it to your height, improving ergonomics and making work on slopes or around trees easier.

It uses a powerful brushless EC motor and offers two main speed modes: ECO mode (level 1) for lighter tasks like edge trimming, and full speed mode (level 2) for more demanding jobs such as heavy clearing. Depending on the attachment, you can also adjust speed continuously for precise control.

Flexible Battery Options

The KMA 120R works with any STIHL AP system battery. For the longest runtime, the AP 500 S battery is the top choice — though slightly heavier. If you need to work for long periods or prefer a lighter setup, you might opt for smaller capacity batteries, especially for hedge trimming or fine work.

Supplied with a basic harness as standard, the KMA 120 R is ready to use. KombiTools are sold separately.

STIHL KMA 120 R AP Battery Run Time

The KMA 120 R is not compatible with the AP 20 battery. It supports all AP batteries shown above and can also be used with AR backpack batteries for significantly longer run times, depending on the attachment and working mode.
