A Professional Petrol Roller Mower for Larger Lawns
This ex-display STIHL RM 655 RS combines a wide 53 cm cut with a metal rear roller, self-propelled drive and a blade brake clutch. It is intended for larger lawns where a striped finish, strong collection and comfortable operation matter.
As an ex-display machine, it may have minor cosmetic marks from storage, display or handling. The supplied photographs show the mower being offered. Please contact us if you need any further condition details before ordering.
Metal Rear Roller for a Striped Finish
The rear roller follows the mower across the lawn, pressing the grass in alternating directions to create visible stripes. It also supports the mower along lawn edges where a conventional rear wheel could drop into a border.
Striping results will depend on the grass type, mowing direction and lawn conditions, but the roller gives this model a clear advantage over a standard four-wheel mower.
53 cm Cut for Larger Areas
The 53 cm cutting width helps cover open lawns efficiently, with STIHL recommending the RM 655 RS for areas up to 2,500 m². Cutting height can be adjusted centrally between 20 and 80 mm, so you do not need to alter each wheel individually.
Self-Propelled Drive
The single-speed drive moves the mower forward at approximately 4.2 km/h. This takes much of the pushing effort out of mowing, particularly when working across larger areas or slight inclines.
You still control the direction and blade operation from the handlebar, but the mower provides the forward movement.
Stop the Blade Without Stopping the Engine
The blade brake clutch allows you to disengage the cutting blade while the petrol engine continues running. This means you can empty the grass box, cross gravel or move between separate lawn areas without restarting the engine each time.
Collect or Mulch Without Swapping Blades
The multi-blade can be used for normal mowing, grass collection or mulching without changing the blade. When collecting, the airflow carries the clippings into the 70-litre grass box. When set for mulching, the grass is cut into smaller pieces and returned to the lawn.
The folding grass box includes a fill indicator and opens for easier emptying. Its large capacity means fewer stops when mowing bigger lawns.
Comfortable Handlebar and Practical Storage
The mono-comfort handlebar is mounted on one side, leaving clear access to the grass box. Its height can be adjusted without tools, while the soft-grip covering helps reduce vibration reaching your hands and arms.
The handlebar can also be folded when the mower needs to be transported or stored.
Aluminium Mowing Deck
The powder-coated aluminium deck provides strength without the corrosion concerns associated with an untreated steel deck. The machine has also been designed to provide better access to drive cables, pulleys and the drive belt during servicing.
