MSA 80 C-B Cordless Chainsaw: For homeowners, with a 35 cm / 14″ bar length

The MSA 80 battery-powered chainsaw is a powerful new addition to the AK System range of chainsaws. The first AK System chainsaw with a 14” guide bar, it has the best power-to-weight ratio in the range. Designed for private use at home, such as cutting firewood, pruning branches, wood working and felling small trees of up to 25 cm in diameter.

Fitted with a powerful brushless motor, the power output of is comparable to the MSA 160 battery-powered chainsaw in the AP System range as well as the MS 162 petrol powered chainsaw. It has 30% more power compared to the the MSA 70 chainsaw whilst only being 200 g heavier. Improved Ergo lever on the back handle for greater comfort during use and across different cutting angles. Trigger system allows for maximum control over the chain speed, for working across different materials, around shrubs or on wood working projects. Transparent chain oil tank for better visibility. Quick chain tensioner allows the sprocket cover to be removed and the chain tensioned without the need for additional tools.

The MSA 80 must be used with the AK 30 S battery. Working time with the recommended AK 30 S battery is 35 minutes.

SOFT GRIP CONTROL HANDLE

Thanks to the soft grip on the control handle, the chainsaw sits comfortably in the hand and can be operated safely. In addition, the users grip is improved by the soft material, which helps when using the chainsaw in wet conditions.

GOOD POWER-TO-WEIGHT RATIO

PERCEPTIBLY LOW WEIGHT WITH HIGH PERFORMANCE. Thanks to modern techniques, the use of lightweight materials and compact design, this power tool has a very good power-to-weight ratio. This means that you can work particularly effortlessly, without having to forgo high performance.

PERFORMANCE ELECTRONICS WITH DERATING FUNCTION

EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE MONITORING. The derating function offers you two advantages in your work: first, this function protects your chainsaw against possible overheating by reducing the current. Additionally, it notifies you by means of a reduction in power if you only have very little battery power remaining. In both cases, the function allows you to finish cuts that have already started without the engine switching off.

STIHL QUICK CHAIN TENSIONING

RE-TENSION THE SAW CHAIN TOOL-FREE. Thanks to STIHL Quick Chain Tensioning, you can tension your saw chain quickly and without tools, thanks to the adjusting wheel. Turning the adjusting wheel to the left releases tension on the saw chain, and turning the adjustment wheel to the right tensions the saw chain. The guide bar will be automatically secured when you tighten the sprocket cover.

EC MOTOR

LOW-MAINTENANCE AND EFFICIENT. Thanks to its compact design, low weight and high efficiency, the EC motor enables you to work in an energy efficient manner. This engine also has a long service life.

TOOL MONITORING WITH THE SMART CONNECTOR

INTEGRATION INTO STIHL CONNECTED. The tool is compatible with the Smart Connector, therefore it can be integrated into the STIHL connected system. Once you have attached a Smart Connector to the tool, after one-time commissioning it will record the tool’s operating hours and transmit them to the STIHL connected App via Bluetooth. In addition to displaying the operational time, the app also provides an overview of all necessary maintenance, ensuring that you do not overlook important upkeep and that your tool is always in a ready-to-use condition.

POWER BOOST

MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE INCREASE. Thanks to intelligent electronics, STIHL power tools and batteries communicate with each other. If the device and battery are equipped with the POWER BOOST function, the battery always provides the maximum possible power for the respective application. In order to ensure optimum battery life, the device temporarily adjusts the power if it is used too intensively.
