The STIHL MS 462 C-M R petrol rescue chainsaw is built for professional crews who need maximum cutting power in high-pressure situations. Its 4.4 kW 2-MIX engine delivers rapid acceleration and strong torque for tackling cut-resistant materials in rescue operations.
Fitted with a Rapid Duro R carbide chain and a depth-limiting guide bar, it’s engineered for controlled plunge cuts through timber, roofing, composites, and metals. M-Tronic electronic management keeps performance consistent regardless of conditions, making it a dependable tool for fire, rescue, and emergency services.

Why Emergency Services Choose the MS 462 C-M R
When time and precision matter most, the MS 462 C-M R is one of the few tools trusted by professional rescue teams—built explicitly for emergency situations. The website Fire and Saw states the following about this model:
- Purpose-built for rescue work. Designed exclusively for fire, rescue, and emergency personnel—not for general use.
- Capable of cutting through almost anything. With its Rapid Duro Rescue carbide chain, it handles glass, sheet steel, aluminium doors, roofing, and timber—described as “for when things get serious.”
- Lightweight with reduced vibration. Compared to the standard MS 462, this rescue version is lighter and has lower vibration for better control in high-pressure scenarios.
- Precision and control features. A depth limiter for safe plunge cuts and a large starter handle for gloved operation make it fast and safe in mission-critical moments.
No wonder professional emergency responders reach for the MS 462 C-M R when every second counts.
