The Polaris Sportsman XP 1000 S 2-Up (2026) combines the performance platform of the XP 1000 S with the ability to carry a passenger comfortably. Built around the powerful 952cc ProStar twin engine and a wide, stable chassis, this ATV is designed for riders who want strong performance while travelling with a second rider.

With long suspension travel, advanced traction systems and a removable passenger seat, the XP 1000 S 2-Up offers a flexible setup that works for both recreational riding and practical off-road work.

952cc ProStar Twin Engine

Power comes from Polaris’ 952cc ProStar twin-cylinder engine, delivering strong torque and smooth power delivery across demanding terrain. The automatic PVT transmission helps manage power efficiently while maintaining control when climbing hills, towing equipment or navigating rough trails.

Removable Premium Passenger Seat

The Sportsman XP 1000 S 2-Up includes a removable premium passenger seat designed specifically for two-person riding. The seat features integrated handholds and a supportive backrest to provide a secure riding position for the passenger.

When riding solo, the passenger seat can be removed to create additional rack space, allowing the ATV to adapt between recreational riding and work tasks.

Wide Chassis for Improved Stability

The XP 1000 S platform uses a wide stance chassis that improves stability when riding over uneven terrain or cornering at speed. This wider footprint becomes especially important when carrying two riders, helping the ATV remain balanced and predictable across rough ground.

Long-Travel Suspension

Sachs shocks provide 11.6 inches of front suspension travel and 14 inches at the rear. This long-travel setup allows the wheels to move freely over obstacles while maintaining traction and comfort across demanding terrain.

The suspension is designed to absorb large bumps and keep the ATV stable whether riding solo or carrying a passenger.

Advanced Steering and Drive Modes

Multi-select Electronic Power Steering (EPS) reduces steering effort and improves control across different terrain types. Polaris’ ProSteer steering geometry also helps minimise bump steer when riding over rocks or rough trails.

Selectable drive modes allow the rider to adjust throttle response depending on conditions. Standard mode offers balanced performance, Work mode softens throttle response for traction and towing, and Performance mode sharpens throttle response for more aggressive riding.

Traction and Terrain Control

Polaris’ On-Demand AWD system automatically transfers power to the front wheels when additional traction is required. Turf Mode allows the rear differential to unlock for easier turning on grass and delicate ground surfaces.

Engine Braking System (EBS) and Active Descent Control (ADC) help manage downhill riding by allowing the engine to assist with braking on steep slopes.

Utility Capability

Despite its performance-focused platform, the XP 1000 S 2-Up still delivers strong work capability. The front and rear racks provide a combined capacity of 500 lb, while the ATV can tow up to 1,830 lb using the integrated 2-inch receiver hitch.

A factory-installed 3,500 lb winch with synthetic rope adds additional capability when recovering the ATV or moving heavy obstacles.
