Balanced Design for Professional Precision
The Okatsune 217 Hedge Shears are designed for those who want accuracy and reach in one tool. Their short 300 mm handles keep you close to the work for detailed shaping, while the longer 175 mm blades help you trim deeper into hedges or shape larger surfaces efficiently. This balance makes the 217 one of the most popular choices among professional gardeners and topiary specialists.
Hand-Forged Japanese Steel
Each pair of Okatsune 217 shears is crafted in Japan using Izumo Yasugi steel — a high-carbon alloy renowned for its sharpness and edge retention. The blades slice cleanly through new and woody growth without bruising, leaving a smooth, healthy finish. The straightforward, durable design ensures years of consistent performance with minimal maintenance.
Comfort and Handling
Weighing just 800 g, the Okatsune 217 is light enough for extended use without fatigue. The smooth Japanese oak handles provide a natural, balanced grip and absorb vibration effectively. The red and white handle ends — a trademark of Okatsune tools — make them easy to spot among foliage or on the ground.
Recommended Uses
