The Okatsune 101 Bypass Secateurs are a compact, precision-made pair of Japanese pruning shears built for smaller hands and detailed pruning work. Measuring just 180 mm, they deliver a clean, effortless cut through branches up to 25 mm thick thanks to the same Izumo Yasugi steel used in traditional Katana swords.
Trusted by professional gardeners and home growers alike, the Okatsune 101 combines light weight with strength for everyday pruning of roses, shrubs, and fruit trees. Available from Suffolk Mowers with full UK support and a lifetime warranty, it’s a reliable, no-nonsense tool that performs season after season.
What Makes the Okatsune 101 Stand Out
The Okatsune 101 secateurs are known for their simplicity and precision. Every element serves a clear purpose — the compact 180 mm frame gives greater control, while the ultra-sharp blades glide through live or dead wood without crushing stems. This clean cut helps plants heal faster and reduces strain on your hands, even during long pruning sessions.
Designed for Smaller Hands
Unlike many secateurs that are too large or heavy for comfortable use, the Okatsune 101 is proportioned for users with smaller hands or those who prefer a compact grip. The handles sit naturally in the palm, giving confident control when trimming delicate growth or shaping hedges and shrubs.
Professional Japanese Steel Blades
Each pair is forged from high-carbon Izumo Yasugi steel — the same grade used for traditional Japanese swords. This material holds an edge far longer than stainless steel and can be sharpened easily with an Okatsune whetstone. The result is a pair of secateurs that stay sharp and reliable, season after season.
Lifetime Warranty for Peace of Mind
When you buy from Suffolk Mowers, your Okatsune 101 secateurs are backed by a lifetime warranty. If a manufacturing fault ever occurs, we’ll repair or replace them free of charge. This reflects the confidence Okatsune has in its engineering — tools designed to last a lifetime with proper care.
Built for Long-Term Use
Okatsune’s simple engineering means fewer parts to wear or fail. The central spring and single pivot design are easy to maintain, and replacement parts are available if ever needed. Combined with the lifetime warranty and service support from Suffolk Mowers, these secateurs are made to last for years of daily pruning.
